Practicing Gratitude

November 28, 2019

We are officially celebrating Thanksgiving today and in the month of gratitude. Celebrating Thanksgiving in November reminds us of spending time with our loved ones and being thankful. I want to share how gratitude should be expressed and experienced on the daily. I know that is hard to practice when we spend most of our time running around on the daily. Science Life shows that by spending a minute alone a day to express gratitude changes your life for the better over time.

If you take a step back and run through your daily activities you’ll be surprised at all the small and big things you unknowingly take for granted. I’ll share some examples below.

Waking up – That alone is a blessing because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Getting to point A to B, you transportation. Whether that’s public transportation or your car. That shows you have the means to support yourself getting around. You can take it from here and run through your own daily activities and see the the things you can be grateful for.

Examples of Gratitude Affirmations

I am thankful for another day to make my life better
I am grateful for this healthy body I have that continues to get stronger
I am thankful that the Universe is working for my greater good
I am grateful for the abundance of opportunities I get to deal with

Here is a list of some things I can be grateful for on the daily
  • My health, the fact that I can get up out of bed every day and plan a workout without thinking twice about it.
  • The ability to work and continue my education in doing what I love.
  • I get to experience continuous growth and learning in all aspects of my life.
  • The love and support from my friends and family.

My ask of you is to do your best to incorporate gratitude in your everyday life. Simply by writing down 3 things you are grateful for each day. Even by thinking them over in your head when you get up, or on the way to your destination. However practicing gratitude works best for you, there are so many creative ways to do it.

Something I always remind myself of when I feel like complaining is that someone is praying for the things you take for granted.

Be thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

I hope everyone has a safe and great Thanksgiving this year!
